Practices we run

IGPF runs four Islington GP practices, City Road Medical Centre on a GMS contract, Barnsbury Medical Practice and Hanley Primary Care Centre on APMS contracts and the Northern Medical Centre on a caretaking contract. We are investing in people who deliver kind and proactive care.

In line with our Better Outcomes for All model, we have introduced systems to safely manage the administrative work of General Practice including use of diary recall, safety netting, and long term conditions recall. Clinicians now have dedicated time to review letters and results and communicate about these with patients. Our Digital Triage Hub live for Barnsbury, Northern and Hanley, ensures patient queries are responded to the same day, sometimes within minutes, having been reviewed by a senior clinician. With the triage hub way of working, clinical and non clinical team members work side by side in a partnership that benefits our patients. It is now easier for patients to see their preferred clinician and have continuity where it is needed. Our phone lines are now more accessible and our receptionist care navigators have more time to assist patients.  

We collaborate with local partners to make our approach to triage more effective at addressing the needs of our local community. We also work with the developers of IT systems that we use, shaping how these systems evolve in response to feedback from our patients and staff.  

Our aim is to be both reassuring and progressive as we build a better service.
